Working Poodles

We have regrouped our thoughts on the AKC show world and in doing so, entered some very special relationships with other poodle enthusiasts that are working toward titles other than AKC conformation. Many of our puppies are titled in AKC as Canine Good Citizens, working in assistance dog programs for therapy and service work. Some of our poodles are working toward or have achieved titles in conformation, agility, hunting and obedience. We post some of their pictures on our website and stay in close contact with their families getting updates on their progress.

Standard Poodles are versatile and the possibilities of the life you will live with them are ENDLESS. We truly LOVE this breed. Standard Poodles very quickly become a loving member of the family. Please contact us via email or telecom with any questions you may have on our PUPPIES.

Barberosa & CRDA

Times with our working dogs get very exciting when they explore new venues and EXCEL.

This is our BIG RED BOY, Marquis Diamond Barberosa Matthews. Barberosa was born December 2009 and is from our KidRoc (RED) X Rubee (RED). When Marion Matthews and her husband contacted us about a RED working standard Poodle, we thought that was gonna be fun. We have NO idea what they had in store for this little RED guy.

Marion is in Law enforcement as is her hubby and they both have a drive for Search and Rescue. Marion and Barberosa are in training and under number # 852, Barberosa is working and excelling in Search and Rescue. Barberosa has begun Helicopter work and is doing very well.

August 6, 2011, a trail was set the previous 24 hours and the track was set at 1.7 miles. Barberosa successfully tracked and located the missing person and gets better and better at his job as time goes on.

The CARDA association, California Rescue Dog Association, is very serious about its training and ability to produce finished rescue canines and their partners. Barberosa is an apprentice and is going strong toward his trade with his handler and owner, Marion Matthews. Barberosa trains in the bay area of Northern California and is very motivated per his handler , Marion. For more information on the CARDA program, go to www.Carda.org.

We are very proud of Barberosa and very greatful for the work , training and love the Mathews have invested in our boy. This is just one more feather in the cap for the Standard Poodle Breed. They CAN do anything asked of them and ARE good at it. We are looking forward to Barberosa gaining his journeyman status as a finished RESCUE CARDA dog!

Dr. Ted de Looze and Remy, our Multi CH Chloe X Pinafore Connor Son, had a SPECTACULAR working weekend June 18 and 19, 2011 at the Umpqua Valley Retriever Club AKC Hunt testing. Remy's DOB is April 27, 2010 so these wins come at just 13 1/2 mos old.

Remy won his competition runs each day with 2 Land and 2 water retrieves, respectively. Remy was successful both days, all tests. Remy needs one more success run and He will title as a Junior AKC Hunter. What a way to make the family proud. This makes the first pointed AKC hunter for our Multi Champion Chloe, our Multi Champion Hailey Grandson. Congrats to Dr. de Looze and Remy.

Remy resides with, is trained, worked and loved by Dr Ted de Looze and Lezlee de Looze of Seattle WA.

Louie lives with, is trained, conditioned and loved by Dr. Larry Weber and his wife in Seattle WA.

Louie and Remy are the SILVER Offspring Boys of our Multi Champion Marquis Diamond-DancingCloud 9 X Calie's Chrome Chaos Concept born early 2010. We had some cute kids from Chloe X Connor for Sure!

Our Marquis Diamond REMY, JH acheived his AKC title July 14, 2011 in OREGON, trained and handled by Dr Ted de Looze. Champion Remy acheived his Junior AKC hunt title before He was 15 months old. Remy is the silver son of our Multi-Champion Marquis Diamond-DancingCloud 9 X Calie's Chrome Chaos Concept.

Remy, JH was bred by Marquis Diamond Standard Poodles, Brian and Susan Cook in 2010. We are very proud of our silver boy. Remy JH is owned, trained, conditioned, spoiled, loved and doted over by his Master, Dr Ted de Looze and wife, Lezlee de Looze in Portland OREGON. Many thanks to you all and CONGRATS BIG TIME! Remy, JH makes our 3rd AKC titled Hunting Standard Poodle and our 2nd HOME BRED.

On September 4, 2011, I received these working photos from Dr Ted de Looze with a quick note from Gold Beach, OREGON telling us about the readiness of our SILVER Boy, Marquis Diamond Remy JH and our RED Girl, Marquis Diamond Phoebe for their upcoming hunt testing for the American Kennel Club.

Early 2011, Dr de Looze and his wife Lezlee called us for a new addition to their family after they lost their beloved Bella, the doberman. They wanted to bring home a RED standard poodle girl. I told Lezlee when we talked that the RED kids did not have the drive to work as strong as some of our other pups but we would be able to choose a great companion girl for them.

Phoebe is a U-CH Rose X Rocky daughter Born March 2011 and of all the pups in the litter, Phoebe was rated in the middle of the group for drive. Dr. de Looze has done his training magic once again and our little RED girl is gonna make the family proud. Phoebe is working hard and seems to be making progress in her bird hunt training which has been a very welcome event for Marquis Diamond Standard Poodes. We will keep posting her success as she continues to amaze us with each update we get from the de Looze family in Oregon. Stay tuned for new updates as they unfold!!

This is our Marquis Diamond Simply Irresistable NA, NAJ, NAP, NJP. This all-american Silver Beauty is called FANCY. Fancy lives in Pennsylvania with Owner, Handler, Trainer, Carol Crouch. Carol flew to our home in California in 2008 and picked Fancy from our AM/CAN CH Pinafore Diamond Boulavardier X Multi CH Pinafore Diamond Hail Storm Litter of Silver pups.

Carol and Fancy have been training for a time in Agility, obedience and they even tried their talents in AKC Conformation! Fancy is pictured here at the Poodle Club of America Agility events in Maryland , April 2011 winning her newest AKC titles in Agility. Many thanks to Carol for all her dedication to training and exhibition with Fancy in Agility and Obedience.

Led by his owner-trainer-handler, Richard Horst of Harmony Mountain Hunting Pudels, WR, SR Marquis Diamond-Harmony Mt Titan, WC, JH, WCX, SH (the white male just above this text) has achieved two Master level pass with NAHRA. Titan previously became the 24th Standard Poodle in history to achieve an AKC Senior Hunter title and the 2nd in history to attain a NAHRA Working Retriever title. Titan has also earned his AKC Senior Hunter titles as well as various lower level titles and working certificates.. (It is important to note that NAHRA differs from both AKC and HRC in that they sponsor field tests which require the dog to pass trailing and quartering tests, in addition to the land and water marks/blinds required in hunt tests. Thus, receiving an advanced title with NAHRA really says something about the dog. Only one other poodle to-date has achieved a Working Retriever title with NAHRA.) Titan is the son of our Am/Can CH Pinafore Diamond Boulevardier and Justamere's Diamond Tiara.

The lanyard, shown far right in the row just above the preceding paragraph is a badge of merit and one of the links on this whistle training instument, worn around the neck of our handler and best pal, Rich Horst. It is difficult to see the BRASS BAND shown on the lanyard, which was awarded by NAHRA to Titan for achieving his Working Retriever title within a calendar year.

Richard Horst of Harmony Mountain Hunting Pudels has taken our home bred Multi CH Marquis Diamond-Harmony Mountain Titan, (Titles/Certifcates: Working Retriever (WR), Started Hunting Retriever (SR), Working Certiificate (WC), Junior Hunter (JH), Working Certificate Excellent (WCX), Senior Hunter (SH)) to levels we would have never dreamed possible.) This boy Titan was the link that bonded our working relationship with Harmony Mountain Kennels in Phoenix AZ owned by Rich and Lori Horst.

Everytime Rich and Multi-Champion Titan are entered in a hunting event, AKC or NAHRA, they come home with wins that continue to make the family proud. They are now working on Master titling and Titan has his first two legs to this very prestigous title. Congrats to you both!

Multi-Champion Titan is our offspring from AM/CAN CH Pinaofore Diamond Boulavardier (Silver) X Justamere's Diamond Tiara (Silver). Boulie and Tiara are our foundation silver standard poodles and together created one very hunt titled boy that has gone WAY beyond our dreams of acheivement. Multi-Champion Titan is and continues to be one of our highest titled performance Standard Poodle home bred. Way to go Rich, Lori and Titan!

Also led by her owner-trainer-handler, Richard Horst of Harmony Mountain Hunting Pudels, SR Mithril-Harmony Mtn Misty Hop, WC, JH, WCX (silver female just above this text) has completed two passes toward her NAHRA master hunter title (North American Hunting Retriever Association). She also earned three passes toward her AKC Senior Hunter title and completed her NAHRA Working Retriever title (the 3rd poodle in history to attain that level of proficiency), among other lower level titles and working certificates. (It is important to note that NAHRA differs from both AKC and HRC in that they sponsor field tests which require the dog to pass trailing and quartering tests, in addition to the land and water marks/blinds required in hunt tests. Thus, receiving an advanced title with NAHRA really says something about the dog. Only one other poodle to-date has achieved a Working Retriever title with NAHRA.) The left picture just above this paragraph is of Misty and Rich after taking 4th place at the Western Arizona Gun Dog club's Big 5 Singles Event held 11/06/2010. Seventeen dogs (all working at the Senior or Master Hunter level) were entered in the competition, so this was quite an accomplishment. She completed the competition with 95, out of 100 possible, points. She is the daughter of our Diamond Deidra, sister to our Selena Shine.

Misty was a silver female pup from our first breeding with our Diamond Deidra X Dazzle in 2006. When we had the all silver litter early 2006, Lori and Rich sent us a Pheasent wing and we tested each one of the girls with the wing. The silver female puppy that turned out to have the most interest and drive for the wing was chosen for Harmony Mountain Hunting Pudels and that was Misty Hop.

Misty is the proud Momma of Nat'l/Int'l CH SR Harmony Mountain Beretta, CGC, WC, called Bear. That was a planned breeding with Pinafore Winds of Change, aka "Quigley."

Bear (white girl shown above) also won Best of Breed Puppy in the NLC UKC conformation show in Phoenix, Arizona on 1/24/09, and obtained her Nat'l/Intl'l Conformation Championships on 3/13-3/14/10 (also achieving her Canine Good Citizen certificate during the same weekend). Bear is the grandaughter of our Deidra. Bear is also being trained for retrieving and earned her NAHRA Started Hunting Retriever title at just 13 months of age (passing 4 out of 4 legs which also earned her the Brass Band Award). She is also 1/2 way to her AKC Junior Hunter title.

Rich trains every morning with his pudels. When we stayed with them in AZ and they were in CA at our place, we watched his training and their dedication to the sport. We cannot wait to see Titan, Misty, Bear and all the other working pudels with Rich and Lori reach their master hunt titles in AKC as well as NAHRA.

This is Marquis Diamond- Mithril Marty. He is quite the handsome boy and still working at agility events at 5 years old.

Marty lives in Central California and is the son of our Mithril Mr. Beaujangle's X CAN CH Diamond Diva.

This fun young platinum silver girl is our Mithril-Marquis Diamond Remarkable Markie. She is called Markie and is loved, trained and handled in all things Agility by Donna Merrill in Midland Texas. These action pictures were taken in July 2009 and demonstrate how Markie has advanced in her love and drive for agility. The title pictures were taken January 3, 2010 in Texas.

Donna has a Blue girl from Mitril Standard Poodles called Bleu and came to us for Markie when we co bred a litter with a Mithril Silver girl in JANUARY 2007, between Mithril/NeigerSelina X AM/CAN CH Boulie. Boulie is our silver foundation boy.

CH Boulie X Selina produced a great group of silver pups that went onto great performance careers as well as conformation titles.

We follow Markie's agiltiy career as well as Jack, Victor and Bleu posting their updates and titles as they come in. Thank you Donna, Wendy and Bill!

These agility boys are Jack and Victor living, working and playing in WIisconsin with Momma Wendy and Poppa Bill . These are the most recent working pictures from July 2009.

Johnny's Shiver Me Timbers, MXJ, AX, WV-N, TN-N, TG-N and Marquis Hail to the Victor, OAJ, TN-N, also known as Jack and Victor are both from our Foundation Silver Standard Poodles and still making the family proud.

Wendy and Bill came to us for both of their boys and sure have worked hard to title them and keep them going strong in Agility, Obedience and Rally.

Bill and Wendy came all the way to California to visit, coming to our home and showing us what their first boy, Jack was trained to do. He knew His stuff.

Not long after their first trip to California, Victor, an AM/CAN CH Boulie X Sprite son, joined their family. We love getting updates from them . Keep up the good work Wendy and Bill!
